Grass cutting has started in your neighbourhood

15/04/2026

Our grass cutting season has started, so from this month you’ll start to see our Grounds Maintenance teams out and about in your neighbourhoods, as they begin the annual grass cutting programme. This helps keep our green spaces tidy and looking their best throughout spring and summer.
Teams are currently carrying out the first grass cut. From May to October, grass will usually be cut every two weeks, depending on weather and ground conditions. You can check when grass will be cut in your area by viewing the schedule on our Grass cutting webpage.

Nature‑friendly zones in your neighbourhoods

We’re continuing to make your neighbourhoods greener and more nature‑friendly, both now and for the future.
Keep an eye out for:
  • Wildflower plots where flowering plants can grow, helping bees and other insects to thrive.
  • Natural meadows where grass is left to grow until the end of the cutting season in October. These areas encourage natural flowers to grow, creating important habitats for insects and adding colour to open spaces. Grass cutting in other areas will continue as normal.
  • Native flower spaces planted with mixed flower bulbs to create bright displays and attract wildlife such as bees, ladybirds and butterflies.
These changes are in direct response to customer feedback, where you told us that sustainability matters to you and how we care for your neighbourhoods.

Supporting our wider plans

These initiatives support our ongoing work to reduce our environmental impact, tackle climate change and deliver wider benefits for our customers and communities.
