ROCA Small Grants
We fund community projects in our Oldham neighbourhoods and some areas of Rochdale. To understand where these areas are in Oldham, please visit our Neighbourhoods page.
We are interested in funding projects that relate to:
- Streets and spaces
- Natural space
- Play and recreation
- Social contact
- Identity and belonging
- Influence and sense of control
- Community skills and learning
- Poverty action
We may fund other types of projects and/or in other areas, however, please contact ROCA@fcho.co.uk before filling out an application.
What is the grant available for?
Projects/activities where there is a clear, local community benefit. Our grants are primarily to support community-led improvements to places and spaces and/or support community action on a particular issue e.g. addressing loneliness and isolation. A ROCA grant can also be issued for community research and engagement activity.
What we cannot fund:
- Sports and club kits
- Individuals/items for individuals
- 'Fun day' type events (unless there is a clear connection to community research/consultation)
We cannot repeatedly fund the same activity/project if you have previously applied to ROCA.
How much can I apply for and when?
Our ROCA Small Grants have a limit of £750 and we accept applications throughout the year until our funding is spent. You can apply for more than one ROCA grant as long as they are for a different projects.
Who can apply?
Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprises (VCFSEs). Your group or organisation must be constituted, have a bank account in its name and have adequate safeguarding and data protection policies in place. If this excludes you from applying, please contact ROCA@fcho.co.uk and we can see how we might support you another way.
