Take no chances for Gas Safety Awareness Week

We're supporting Gas Safety Week 14-20 September to raise awareness of gas safety and encourage customers to make and keep their gas safety appointments.

It is a legal requirement for us to carry out an annual gas safety check on all gas appliances in customers’ homes which are owned by First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO). To help keep customers safe and ensure checks are completed on time, our Property Safety team works with Gas Safe registered engineers from Sure Maintenance, who visit customers annually.

These checks help make sure appliances are working safely and efficiently, while also spotting any issues that may need attention. 

This year's Gas Safety Week campaign is focused on the importance of access. Being able to get into properties when appointments are arranged allows inspections to be completed on time and any follow-on work to be identified and arranged as quickly as possible.
