Mossylea development shortlisted at Inside Housing Awards

08/10/2026

We have been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Inside Housing Development Awards, for our Mossylea development in Middleton.

The £7.1 million project of 29 properties is a finalist for the best affordable suburban housing development and best suburban shared ownership development at the Inside Housing Awards to be held in London.

There were more than 300 entries in the affordable housing development category – a record number - and we are one of nine on each shortlist!

“This news is an acknowledgement that FCHO is building top-quality affordable and sustainable homes that keep bills down in places our customers want to live,” said Executive Director of Corporate Services and Deputy Chief Executive Andy Ewart.

“Much credit must go to the developer Lancet Homes and the project’s architects MPSL Planning & Design who both did a tremendous job on Mossylea.

“It is a traditional but distinctive development of red-brick housing built on a disused school site with a clear identity and in a great location.

"We are very proud of it and very proud to be shortlisted for two major industry awards.”

Mossylea comprises two two-bedroom bungalows, three two-bedroom houses and 24 three-bedroom houses with 21 for affordable rent and eight for shared ownership.

All the properties have an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A and boast solar panels, enhanced insulation, efficient heating and electric vehicle charging.

We will find out if it is a winner when the awards ceremony takes place on 24th November at the InterContinental O2 in London.
