Gold status for sustainability for the second year running
16/10/2026
We are proud to announce that we have received a coveted national accolade for a second year running for the sustainability of our homes and day-to-day operations.
The annual independent SHIFT assessment has once again awarded us Gold status for 2026, placing us in the top 10% of organisations recently assessed.
SHIFT, which stands for Sustainability Homes Index for Tomorrow, assesses organisations against a range of environmental targets, including carbon emissions, energy and water use, waste recycling and ethical procurement of goods and services.
In our assessment, we achieved excellent scores for diverting 100% of office waste from landfill, reducing water consumption and using responsibly sourced materials.
We were also praised for our extensive retrofit programmes, which improve energy efficiency in existing homes, as well as for building new homes that are more energy efficient.
"Retaining our SHIFT gold is a fantastic achievement and reflects the continued efforts across the business to make changes and develop an environmentally friendly impact in all our operations," said Sustainability Manager Nicole Stonier.
“We're really pleased with the result - with some areas even reaching the next platinum level - but there's still plenty more we want to achieve and we'll continue building on this progress over the next few years.”
Looking ahead to 2027, our priorities include continuing to improve the energy efficiency of existing homes, increasing the use of responsibly sourced materials in developments and strengthening climate resilience, particularly for homes that are at greater risk of flooding.
