White Ribbon Day
25/11/2025
White Ribbon Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls. It’s a day to stand together, raise awareness, and commit to creating a future free from abuse and inequality.
How can you show support?
- Wear a white ribbon as a symbol of your pledge
- Speak out against harmful attitudes and behaviors
- Share resources and encourage conversations about respect and equality
Our dedicated Domestic Abuse webpage has information about how victims or survivors of domestic abuse can seek dedicated support.
How does FCHO support victims of domestic abuse
We are committed to creating safe, supportive communities and stands firmly against domestic abuse. We understand the devastating impact abuse can have on individuals and families, and we work tirelessly to ensure victims receive the help they need.
Our approach includes:
- Immediate support - Customers can report concerns confidentially via our safeguarding team at 0161 393 7117 or safeguarding@fcho.co.uk.
- Specialist partnerships - We work closely with local agencies, including Greater Manchester Police, NHS, and Oldham Safeguarding Boards, to provide wrap-around care and access to services such as Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs) and MARAC.
- Housing solutions - We offer sanctuary measures and, where appropriate, will consider rehousing options for those escaping abuse, in line with the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
- Staff training - Our teams are trained to identify risks early, respond sensitively, and refer to specialist services.
- Community awareness - FCHO actively supports campaigns like White Ribbon Day and promotes resources such as the Silent Solution (dial 999 and press 55 if speaking is unsafe).
Our message is clear: No one should suffer in silence. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, please reach out. Together, we can build safer homes and stronger communities.
