Welcoming our new apprentice joiners, Amy and Cody

01/10/2020

This week we’ve welcomed two more apprentices to FCHO. Both Amy and Cody have joined us as Site Carpentry apprentices in Property Care  – taking our apprentice cohort to four.

Amy, 18 from Oldham, lives in one of our homes and opted for the apprenticeship route to get on-the-job work experience as a joiner. She said: “I really enjoyed studying wood tech at school and I like hands-on learning, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

22 year-old Cody is from Failsworth and learned about this apprentice role through our Directions team. He explains: “A family member who’s a joiner sparked my interest in a career in carpentry. When this apprenticeship came up, I thought it was right for me and I’m looking forward to learning from the team.”

Both Amy and Cody will be working toward their Level 2 Site Carpentry qualification, spending one day a week studying at Oldham College and the rest of the time working alongside our team in Property Care.

We’ll be following our apprentices on their journey with us, so look out for more news in the months ahead.
