Three new Board members appointed

23/07/2025

We have appointed three new members to our Board.

Ade Alao, Jackie Njoroge and Sarfaraz Akram are all from Greater Manchester and bring a wealth of strategy, business and housing experience to the Board table. Each will serve an initial three-year term as non-executive directors.

Jackie is the chief strategy and data officer at the University of Salford. She has been instrumental in shaping the university’s strategic direction and enhancing its data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Qualified accountant Sarfaraz brings a wealth of experience in strategic and operational leadership, together with financial stewardship. He is currently chief operating officer for Rochdale-based Lancashire Farm Dairies, a large privately-owned employer.

Ade is the Head of Capital Improvement at HM Courts & Tribunals Service. He brings more than 25 years’ experience of project delivery, regeneration, housing, and local economic development alongside several non-executive appointments.

“FCHO and myself are delighted to have Ade, Jackie and Sarfaraz - three local people – join the Board and use their expertise to help make a difference to FCHO.” said our board chair, Amanda Harris.

“It is vitally important that as a Board we bring our collective experience, skills and real-world acumen to help guide FCHO as we continue to improve our services for our customers and expand our development pipeline, bringing new homes to the area. These three new appointments will do just that”

The new board members replace Hilda Kaponda and Sabihah Khalil after their terms of office ended earlier this year. Hilda had been a board member since June 2016, serving as Chair of the People and Governance Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee. Sabihah joined the board in January 2022 as a trainee board member at 18 years old. She became a strong advocate for young people in the district and a passionate champion for neighbourhoods. Our Board thanked them both for their exemplary service.
