Year 9 students from The Brian Clarke Academy have donated 12 Christmas hampers to First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) customers and families as part of an annual initiative to support local people during the festive season.

The hampers were delivered by nice students to FCHO’s Union Street office on Thursday 18 December, which included dry food items, toiletries, children’s books and toys. Students were welcomed by Chief Executive Mark Gifford OBE, who thanked them for their generosity and spoke to them about the importance of charity, empathy and supporting others.

The completed hampers have been distributed to families across Oldham who are struggling and in need of a hand during Christmas.

FCHO customer, Christine Lawton (pictured) collected two hampers to provide to two families who are in need of extra support at this time of year. On collecting the hampers she said:

“I’m so surprised. The hampers are beautiful and can’t thank the students and the school enough. They will cheer both families up”.
