Finding a social home in Oldham just got a whole lot easier!

30/09/2021

As of today, (Thursday 30 September) applying for a social housing home will be easier for residents across the borough.

We’ve joined forces with Oldham Council which means you, and anyone applying for a home in the area, will only need to apply through one single system, Oldham Council’s Housing Options.

You will now only need to register for a new home on one system where you will be assessed based on your housing need in line with Oldham Council’s Allocations Scheme.

If you already have an application on the Council’s Housing Register you do not need to do anything as your place on the Council Housing Register remains unaffected. If you are currently on our housing register only and you have a statutory housing need you don’t have to do a thing, you will automatically be transferred onto Oldham Council’s Housing Register. You will be contacted by Oldham Council by email in due course with instructions on what to do next.

You will also retain your MyMove Oldham account and have access to our ready to let homes on a first come first served basis, as well as our rent to buy and shared ownership properties.

If you do not have a statutory housing need, you can still access our ready to let homes on a first come first served basis through the MyMove Oldham site.

Our Chief Operations Officer, Emma Davison said, “This is great news for our customers.

“Having a much more streamlined system will allow applicants to register in one place and view, apply and bid on all available homes in the borough.

“As Oldham’s biggest housing provider, it’s really important we work closely with Oldham Council to allocate homes to local people through a single system that is easy to use and also meets the needs for housing in Oldham”.
