FCHO nominated for three Northern Housing Awards

10/04/2026

We’re delighted to share that we have been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious Northern Housing Awards, which take place next month in Manchester.

We’re in the running for Northern Housing Partnership of the Year for our Greater & Greener project, delivered in partnership with the National Trust to enhance biodiversity and improve green spaces in our communities.

Our flagship West Vale development at Coldhurst has also been shortlisted in the Best Affordable Housing Development (£10m–£20m) category. The scheme includes 62 apartments for affordable rent alongside 26 shared ownership homes.

In addition, we’ve been shortlisted for Best Retrofit Initiative or Project for our £5.4 million, two‑year programme delivering energy efficiency and comfort improvements to 470 homes across Failsworth, Chadderton, Shaw and Royton.

Our Chief Executive, Mark Gifford, said:

“These are well‑respected regional awards and being shortlisted in three categories is a real boost and a clear validation of how well we’re delivering for our customers and communities.

“I’d like to thank colleagues for the tremendous work they’ve put into these projects, which are making a real difference – whether that’s providing safe, secure and affordable homes or creating cleaner, greener and more welcoming neighbourhoods.

“We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed on the night. These are highly competitive awards, so best of luck to everyone involved.”

The awards ceremony will take place at The Kimpton Clocktower, Manchester, on 21 May.
