One Point Housing Options
The One Point Housing Options and Advice Service provides information to all members of the community on a range of housing options and housing related advice.
We are here to help customers to manage and keep their homes or to achieve their housing aspirations.
The Service is a partnership service with First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) at its core. Other partners include Oldham Council, Connexions, Supported Housing Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, Probation, Job Centre Plus and Social Care Services.
The service aims to help customers to help themselves and to offer support to those who need it. We are able to provide tailor made, personalised solutions and to link customers into services provided by FCHO and our partners locally, regionally and nationally
We allocate FCHO tenancies in line with the Council’s Allocation Scheme.
This includes producing daily adverts of available properties which you can view from the Bid for a Home page. We also carry out the delegated responsibility from Oldham Council in respect of homelessness and its prevention.

There is currently a very high demand for housing, therefore you are likely to have a long wait before a suitable home becomes available. You should consider other ways to find a home and our Supported Housing Services before applying for one of our homes.

Step By Step Guide To Finding A Home With Us
The process is very straight forward;
Step 1 - Housing Application
- First you must complete the online housing application form.
Step 2 - Verification
Your application will be made live and ready to place bids within 20 days of you completing your application. All checks will be done if you are successful when placing your bids. Please keep your application number safe as this will become your bidding number. You do not need to anything else.
Step 3 - Bid for homes
- Once your application has been verified, you will be able to bid for our available homes

Daily Property Updates
Our website will now be updated daily with FCHO properties. We hope that this will make it easier for you to bid for our homes.
FCHO will make multi provisional offers on our properties to the successful customer. We will contact the top five customers within 48 hours in order to confirm your interest and to outline the next steps.
Please be aware that all FCHO offers are subject to 2 full weeks rent in advance. This includes existing FCHO tenants who are looking to transfer. Direct Debits are mandatory.
Please be aware that other Registered Providers may have different conditions which you will need to comply with before you are considered for a home.
